Leaders
The 1st Highweek Village Beaver Colony leaders all have names taken from characters in Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories. This ties in with the leaders of the Cub Pack, which is the next stage of Scouting your child can attend.
If you would be interested in helping out with the Colony's activities, speak to one of our existing leaders (contact details can be found on the 'Find Us' page). You do not have to commit to attending every meeting, but it is always useful to have helpers who can help out when needed. You will need to be CRB cleared to work with children to help out, so if you think you would like to help in the future, please complete a form as soon as you can. This saves any delay later when your help is needed (and gratefully received).

the Jungle Book, Baloo is the 'wise old bear' who teaches Mowgli the
Law of the Jungle. Our Baloo is the Colony's leader who teaches the Beavers
useful skills and local knowledge. She also helps them make cards for
special events such as Christmas and Mother's Day (Dads - take note!).

(the ghost) involves the Beavers in all things creative like cooking.
She organised the handprint plaques that grace our Centenary memorial
garden - which will let our current Beavers look back in years to come
and say "Coo! Weren't my hands small"

Science and Technology to the Beavers. He is also the author
